AAC Encoders & tools

Here we have some some AAC encoders as well as tools to deal with AAC and mp4/m4a files.

exhale-v1.2.1 for Windows

2023-12-23

exhale, which is an acronym for "Ecodis eXtended High-efficiency And Low-complexity Encoder", is a lightweight library and application to encode uncompressed WAVE-format audio files into MPEG-4-format files complying with the ISO/IEC 23003-3 (MPEG-D) Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC, also known as Extended High-Efficiency AAC) standard. In addition, exhale writes program peak-level and loudness data into the generated MPEG-4 files according to the ISO/IEC 23003-4, Dynamic Range Control (DRC) specification for use by decoders providing DRC. Changes since version 1.2.0.1 from July 2023:
Fixed as part of Git commit b17f659c. Now lower-preset encodings decode almost bit-identically to those made with exhale release 1.1.9, which is good... and the higher presets are still bugfixed, which is even better.
Win32 compile is XP friendly. Intel 19.0 compiles.

exhale-v1.2.1-BA_MORE_CBR set (CBR, experimental!) for Windows

2023-12-26

As above, except that these were compiled using the BA_MORE_CBR macro which forces more constant bit-rate (CBR, experimental!). Not recommended for archiving. Win32 compile is XP friendly. Intel 19.0 compiles.
