Philips Multichannel MP2 encoder

This is the only available (to the author's knowledge) multichannel MP2 encoder. It was developed by Philips, and is used mostly for creation of SVCDs (since some DVD players can play multichannel MP2 in SVCD).

Edit: I recently learned about mctooLAME, a multichannel MP2 encoder forked from tooLame by its author, Mike Cheng.

There is no known multichannel MP2 software player. Most players can handle streams created by Philips' encoder, but only in stereo mode. The pub_dec app in the package is only able to decode streams back to PCM.
